Duncan Forrester is the Founder and Principal Consultant of ForresterPR Ltd. He is an award-winning, globally-experienced Communications leader with over 30 years in the automotive industry, and 20 years' expertise in Marketing, PR and Communications.
Uniquely, he has the experience of creating multiple global Marketing, PR and Communications functions for industry-changing start-up electric vehicle brands from the ground up, as well as supporting several other early-stage automotive companies. He's a recognised expert in developing the perception, and protecting the reputation, of global premium, luxury and performance automotive companies.
As a member of the global Executive Management Team of Polestar, Duncan Forrester was the communications architect for Polestar's disruptive, non-traditional launch and communication strategy for the new brand and its first two products, from a blank sheet of paper. From pre-launch, through a two-year, worldwide programme of communication and customer event activity, his plan developed the awareness of the new Polestar brand, and established Polestar as the first real competitor to Tesla.
For Volta Trucks, he did the same. As a consultant then Chief Communications Officer and member of the global Executive Management Team and Board of Director's Brand Committee, Duncan built the Volta Trucks brand and all-electric Volta Zero from the ground up. After just 2.5 years, it was positioned as the leading electric commercial vehicle company and product by global Media Share of Voice, #1 for Brand Consideration and #2 for Spontaneous Awareness, according to independent customer research.
Alongside Polestar and Volta Trucks, Duncan Forrester has worked in senior global leadership positions for some of the world's most recognisable car manufacturers including Volvo Cars, McLaren Automotive and Automobili Pininfarina.
Outside of the automotive industry, he has previously transferred his automotive experience into the marine and yachting world, supporting well-known luxury brands including Princess Motor Yachts, Ben Ainslie Racing, The America's Cup World Series and Scorpion powerboats.
Having sought, and never found, a specialised start-up and electric vehicle agency, ForresterPR was created. The consultancy builds on the unique insights and experiences of developing new automotive companies, and is supported by a global team of operational experts.
