Volta Trucks

Volta Trucks is the leading all-electric goods vehicle manufacturer and services company. The company is headquartered in Stockholm, Sweden, and has offices in the UK and many European capital cities.  

The Volta Zero is the first purpose-built full-electric 16-tonne vehicle designed for inner-city freight deliveries. It was designed with safety at its core, and to reduce the environmental impact of freight deliveries in city centres where existing pollution is at its worst, with an operating pure-electric range of 150-200 kms (95 – 125 miles).

Duncan Forrester was the fifth team member of Volta Trucks in early 2020. and ForresterPR supported the company's Marketing and PR activities, designing, developing and implementing its global communications and launch strategy.  

He was employed by the company in early 2021 as Chief Communications Officer, member of the Executive Management Team and the Board of Director’s Brand Committee. Duncan was responsible for developing the Volta Trucks brand from the ground up, and all customer, media, and public channels of communication. 

He was the architect of the company's data-driven external communications strategy from launch, raising awareness and credibility of the brand's journey with investors, customers, media and stakeholders, through to production of vehicles, all with a direct impact on vehicle pre-orders and future revenues. 

He developed and recruited the Volta Trucks Marketing, Events and PR team from a single consultant to a pan-European network of 30+ Communication experts, and roster of supporting agencies as part of an 850-strong company headcount. Duncan also set up the company's Policy and Governmental Affairs function, and transitioned it to a stand alone function.

Within 2.5 years, Duncan and his team positioned Volta Trucks as the leading electric commercial vehicle manufacturer in segment (by global media Share of Voice) vs legacy competitors. He also positioned Volta Trucks as #1 for Brand Consideration, and #2 for Spontaneous Awareness of all electric commercial vehicle manufacturers in Europe, according to independent customer research.
